All eyes are on and hearts with Gary Pinkel today as he coaches what could well be his final game on the sidelines. Moving forward, sources tell FootballScoop that athletic director Mack Rhoades is ready to interview, make a decision and get his new head coach to Columbia. Per sources, Toledo head coach Matt Campbell is expected to interview and is considered a strong candidate.
Some people in the industry believe that Rhoades would like to meet with Bowling Green head coach Dino Babers as well; but we have not confirmed this. The instability of the leadership at Mizzou might cause some issues; but sources we have spoken with believe Rhoades would like to have a new head coach within the next 7 days. Ohio’s governor has a new resolution for UM-OSU rivalry week and this one bans khakisCan we talk about Western Michigan’s uniforms? It's puzzling, then, that nearly six weeks since the Knicks' season ended, with no new coach in place, Jackson is on vacation. Over the past week, Jackson has been tweeting photos of his trip through the upper midwest, with stops in South Dakota and reportedly Idaho. The timing is odd, particularly with a glut of talented coaching candidates hitting the open market. According to ESPN's Ian Begley, the implication of Jackson's vacation is that the search is "on hold."A Jackson has been criticized for the slow-moving process, and a vacation in May hasn't helped the optics. JacksonA has maintained his desire for the Knicks' next coach to be someone with whom he has a relationship and will coachA his famed triangle offense. If Jackson had settled on Rambis, who by record appears to be one of the weakest candidates for the job, he wouldn't need a drawn-out process, nor a vacation, which, according to New York Post's Marc Berman, gives Jackson a chance to clear his mind and reflect. Tell them how smart and wonderful they are and how they’re so helpful, kind and caring.
It was such a thrill to see the body language and faces of our board members change from reservation, reluctance, and uncertainty to smiles, laughs, and excitement.

Gail Perry inspires nonprofits around the world with cutting-edge fundraising strategies and new tools to make fundraising more successful and more fun. If Campbell impresses in his interview and becomes the choice, the announcement could be delayed if Toledo wins today and advances to the MAC championship game (Friday December 4th). With no playoffs, no first-round pick, and free agency more than two months away, the New York Knicks' biggest piece of business this offseason was finding a head coach. It'sA a list that includes names like David Blatt, Kevin McHale, Jeff Hornacek, Mike D'Antoni, Jeff Van Gundy, and Mark Jackson, with former Pacers coach Frank Vogel joining the ranks on Thursday. While Jackson has been conducting the slow-moving search, highly touted coaches like Tom Thibodeau and Luke Walton were scooped up by the Timberwolves and Lakers, respectively. That makes Rambis the frontrunner, much to the dismay of fans, who note Rambis' 65-164 record as a head coach, including 9-19 with the Knicks.
That could mean Jackson is giving consideration to other coaches, and therefore basketball philosophies, other than his own. If Jackson waits too long to make a move, some of the best candidates could be hired or decide to move on.
You rallied the troupes in a way that got them out of their comfort zone, made them tackle those underlying fears, and empowered them to motivate. It willA also likely have a profound effect on the direction of the franchise as the team hits something of a crossroads between a win-now outfit behindA 31-year-old Carmelo Anthony and a rebuilding project behind 20-year-old Kristaps Porzingis. There were conflicting reports about whether Jackson reached out to Thibodeau and Walton prior to their hires. The only other candidate who appears to have gotten serious consideration is Blatt, who played in Princeton with Knicks GM Steve Mills and reportedly met with Jackson to talk about the job. Additionally, it may also let Jackson weigh the coaching market, which could shrink or expand at any time, as seen with Vogel's sudden departure, a coach with ties to Jackson and who could be a candidate for the Knicks' job. Taking a vacation in the midst of a coaching search certainly qualifies as an unpredictable move, and only time will tell if it will affectA the Knicks' next hire.

It has even prompted a letter to Browns fans and season ticket holders from team owner Jimmy Haslam himself seemingly defending the groups diligence regarding the naming of the teams next leader. Now we all know that you really have a terrible time raising money if you don’t have some sort of deadline. But if it is too close, you are at the mercy of mailing schedules that might go wrong and ruin everything. Regardless of the outside world’s perception, Haslam has continued to lead his search for the teams next coach with help from CEO Joe Banner, team president Alec Scheiner, and general manager Mike Lombardi. The organization has been secretive about its candidates and the only known interviewees are New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Ben McAdoo, San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt, former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak, and Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine. The team reportedly had interest in several college coaches, most notably Bob Stoops of the Oklahoma Sooners, Auburn Tiger’s  head coach Gus Malzahn, and James Franklin of the Vanderbilt Commodores. But as we’ve seen time and time again, a lot can happen in the coaching world in a short amount of time.
McDaniels and Bowles withdrew their names from consideration to return to their coordinator positions, McAdoo has signed on with the New York Giants as the teams new offensive coordinator, the Tennessee Titans lured Whisenhunt to Nashville with a reportedly guaranteed 5 year deal, James Franklin is now the new head coach at Penn State, and Stoops and Malzahn appear too comfortable to leave the college game. The Browns are reportedly waiting on their interview with Gase before making a final decision on the coaching search, which is, again, being led by Jimmy Haslam, which points to Adam Gase as the leading contender to be the next Cleveland Browns head coach. The only hurdle is that Gase has told NFL teams that he will not interview about any job openings until after the Broncos season has finished. If the Broncos win Sunday against New England, then Gase will likely not interview for at least two more weeks until after the Super Bowl.
