In this class, we explore our intentions, wishes and connections in this world and infuse our drawings with them. This entry was posted in creativity, drawing, inspiration, workshops, Zentangle and tagged asheville, class, damaris, drawing, mandala, mindfulness, workshop, zendala, zentangle on August 8, 2014 by Damaris Pierce. Participants draw the Mandala using Zentangle patterns and intuitive strokes along with good old fashioned geometry, creating a meaningful and supportive work of art that becomes a long lasting treasure and powerful tool for spiritual practice.

In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be employed for focusing attention of aspirants and adepts, as a spiritual teaching tool, for establishing a sacred space, and as an aid to meditation and trance induction. The mandala is a support for the meditating person, something to be repeatedly contemplated to the point of saturation, such that the image of the mandala becomes fully internalized in even the minutest detail and can then be summoned and contemplated at will as a clear and vivid visualized image.
